The challenge: rethinking the digital platform for musical creation
Based at La Ciutat in Pau, CERC—Centre de Creacion Musicau—is a key organization in Béarn and Occitan cultural life. The challenge was to create a platform capable of supporting the center’s growing ambitions and its partners, including Hart Brut and Pagans, while organizing a dense body of content around artistic residencies, events and the daily life of the center.
Research with a five-year horizon
The project began with an immersive review of the existing ecosystem, followed by meetings and questionnaires designed to identify immediate needs and a longer-term vision. We asked what the ideal platform should become over five years, allowing the architecture to anticipate projects such as the Atlas Sonore and Cadran Sonore planned for 2026.
Development was carried out in close collaboration with programmer Patrick Tessier. This relationship between strategic design and technical expertise gave the system the strength and flexibility required for future acoustic experimentation.
Clarity for a complex cultural ecosystem
I translated CERC’s graphic identity into a contemporary digital architecture capable of holding substantial information without becoming difficult to navigate. Dedicated systems document artists and residencies through text, photography, video and sound; structure events, ticketing and news from La Ciutat; and keep dense content accessible across devices.
Culture rooted in place
The platform’s identity is inseparable from Béarn and Occitania, their language and their living culture. The result is a coherent, secure and evolving digital ecosystem that supports CERC as both a regional cultural anchor and an experimental music laboratory with a reach beyond its territory.
